We have 3 active nests (hoping that the Marsh eagles rebuild their nest). I will be listing the Marsh, Stalashen and Chaster nests on separate threads this year and any new nests we find as it will be easier to find them.

We visited Chaster today. The only eagle found looked like a male in a tree near a favourite perch tree near the parking lot. Feathers seem quite unsettled, hopefully from a recent preening.

It was a lovely warm day for fall but not hot warm, 17.5 *. The eagle wasn't panting. I hope it was just a recent preening causing the fluffed up feathers.

Happy New Year to all who visit here!
Yesterday's sunny weather was a draw to Chaster to check on our eagles and nest. The nest looks healthy, stable after our winter winds have caused many problems.
I found this eagle in a stand of trees our couple here use, but in a different tree. On looking closely at the pictures I wonder if it is a new adult with some smudging noticed on the right side of the face. click bigger to enlarge. This was about 1:15.

There was another eagle spotted way down the road, a distance past the nest tree but I would suspect within view of each other.

Great shots Sandra!
Maybe it is a different eagle.
