Welcome to the Victoria Airport Eagles thread for the 2015/2016 season. This nest is on private property, therefore the exact location will not be divulged. After watching these eagles and talking with the property owners, I am convinced that this is the same pair that inhabited a nest across the highway several years ago. That nest blew down and it is thought that the eagles took over a nest beside the airport parking lot before building a new nest on this private property. Sadly the eagles did not produce any eaglets this past season. Info on previous years' activities can be found here. Hoping for better luck this season fingers crossed Please feel welcome to post your observations, photos and videos of these eagles if you visit their nest area.

I did a tour today of all the nests I monitor on the Saanich Peninsula and did not see or hear any eagles in the area of the nest.

I visited the nest area this afternoon and Mom eagle was perched at the top of the nest tree. Did not hear or see Dad anywhere.

Not very good lighting from this side.

One eagle in the old nest today, appeared to be incubating. The eagles didn't have any young last season and I saw them flying across the highway with sticks last summer before they left the territory. I'll post some pics later.

The nest on Lochside Dr. that the eagles have used the past few years.

The old nest across the highway they used many years ago, taken from the side road by the nest on Lochside Dr. I caught glimpses of a white head and yellow beak.

One more pic of the eagle in the nest. This nest is small and not very deep; you can actually see the eagle's body.
