Welcome to the Roberts Bay Bald Eagles thread.

This thread is dedicated to observations, photos and videos of the eagles who inhabit a nest on private property overlooking Roberts Bay in Sidney BC on Vancouver Island.
This pair successfully fledged 1 eaglet in 2015.
We wish them every success in the coming year.

Here is a link to last year's thread 2014-2015 season

I did a tour today of all the nests I monitor on the Saanich Peninsula and did not see or hear any eagles in the area. The nest is still intact Left thumb up

Stopped in at Muse Winery this afternoon and met the new owners of the house on the corner of Third & Beaufort; the house that has been for sale for quite awhile. They told me they saw both eagles about 2 weeks ago. The lady who usually works at the winery told me she lives right next door to these new owners on Beaufort. I didn't see or hear any eagles when I was there.

I visited the nest area yesterday and one of the neighbours said I had just missed an adult perched in the nest tree Sad

I visited the nest area today and was happy to see an adult in the nest looking like it was eating. It had a dirty beak Smile The nest looks like some new branches have been added since the last time I was there.

I visited the nest area today but did not see or hear any eagles, or any neighbours to talk with. The nest definitely has new sticks added to it and I'm guessing one of the eagles might have been down in the nest incubating fingers crossed
