Welcome to the Saxe Pt. Park Eagles thread for the 2015/2016 season. This thread is for observations, photos and discussion of the Saxe Pt. Park eagles whose nest is located in Saxe Pt. Park in the Municipality of Esquimalt. The Saxe Pt. Park eagles also spend time at the other end of Munro Street at Fleming Beach/Buxton Green and Macaulay Point. Info and photos of this eagle family can be found on the previous thread here. Please feel welcome to post your photos and observations of the Saxe Pt. Park eagles when you visit their nest area.

I went to the park today to check on the nest and was very happy to see it still intact. I didn't take any pics as the lighting wasn't good Sad I saw a few Turkey Vultures soaring over the bay, a Great Blue Heron standing on a kelp bed fishing, and an Anna's Hummingbird along the beach path. It's a bit too early for the eagles to return but you never know when they will be there fingers crossed

I spent a bit of time at the park this afternoon; no sightings of the eagles yet.

I visited the park late this afternoon and still no sign of the eagles in the area. The gardener had already gone home but the few regular park visitors said they haven't seen or heard the eagles since they left in the summer with their eaglet.

The nest is still intact.

I went to the park today around noon and found Mom on the little perch branch near the nest tree WooHoo She was preening, shaking, preened some more, pooped, preened some more Phew She was busy. While I was walking up the inside path she flew off overhead and in the direction of the opposite side of the park. After I wandered around for awhile and went back to the nest site again, I decided to stop at Fleming Beach before heading home but did not see any eagles in the trees.

I went to the park this afternoon and found Mom perched on the usual branch above the nest. She was watching some people with their dogs walking along the path below.

I was at SPP last Sunday when a couple of eagles flew over screeching. They did not perch but flew away.
