This is a good picture of Blair and Taylor courtesy of Talon. Blair is in front and Taylor is behind her. Most if not all of the dark feathering around his eyes will have molted.

This is a picture of them on the nest. You can see the dark spot on his tail feather. This will also most likely have molted.

Welcome to Season 6 at the Eagles4Kids nest in Blair, WI.

This website was begun by the students at Blair-Taylor Elementary students. It is a joint project of the school and The National Eagle Center in Wabasha, MN. These sponsors are aided by a grant. The students raised the money for the cams, website, and the connections to the internet. Eagles4Kids is an online resource providing an up close view of the daily activities of an eagle family. The main page, www.eagles4kids.com includes useful resources for teachers and students as well as updates about the nest.

Nest history:

2005 to 2010 The original Lucy and Larry successfully raised 2 eaglets to fledge in each of those seasons.
2010-2011 Lucy left the area and Larry was alone. Several female eagles visited the nest but did not stay. Then a female came and stayed, but no eggs were laid. She was then called Lucy.
2011-2012 Lucy and Larry had 2 eggs that hatched and the eaglets were named Luke and Lily. They successfully fledged.
2012-2013 When the cams came on in November we noticed that Lucy had a serious foot injury. She did lay one egg that did not hatch.
2013-2014 Lucy and Larry arrived, worked on the nest, but there was a territory dispute. Lucy left the nest and we have not seen her since. Several female eagles vied for Larry's attention and NF stayed.
2014-2015 NF arrived with a young male eagle that was referred to as YM, Young male. These eagles were eventually named Blair and Taylor by the students. 2 eggs were laid but did not hatch.

These pictures of Blair and Taylor were taken by FFF May 2015

Welcome to Season 6 at Eagles4Kids. Tomorrow Darrin and a team will be checking out the wiring and cleaning the cams. At this time it is unknown if the cams will be streaming so you can
join in. But it is the prelude to another season and it is our greatest desire to be seeing Blair and Taylor soon. We are expecting a great year ~ with eaglets. Smile

wave Donna, Rita, Lynne and all who are getting ready for Season 6. I'm so looking forward to seeing Blair and Taylor back in the Fall.

Here's a few pics of our pair from last May... They both were going thru a molt when we last saw them so they may not look like this when they return... I'm looking forward to seeing Taylor especially. By now he will probably have lost the shadowing on the beak ( it was almost gone by the end of the season ) but I'm hoping he may still have those familiar markings on his tail feathers... time will tell.

Weather report ...

Well, we have a little glitch... seems we've had some busy critters during the off season Faint

" Looks like Leroy and Laverne and the kids (mice) thought the cam wires were yummy and ate them. So poor Darrin and Eric are having to replace all the cables to the cams before they even get started. . And it is 95 degrees and yucky. Good luck guys and drink lots of fluid. "
