Quote by: garyandjudyHi Capo hi I'm judy of Gary and Judy those three pictures are they of Solo this season 2010 or are they some other eaglet wingersizing and branching:question:
They are very nice picturs and I was hoping they were of Solo so that I could save one:question:
Judy, the eaglet in the 3 pics that capo99 posted on July 5th is not Solo. It is the eaglet from the Saxe Pt. Park nest. capo99 and urban Eagle visited Saxe Pt. Park the day before Fledgefest. The pics should have been posted on the dedicated thread for the Saxe Pt. Park eagles but I'm sure capo99 didn't realize there is a dedicated thread for the Saxe Pt. Park eagles and wanted everyone to see the pics of the eaglet They are definitely fantastic photos

I have been having such a great time going through all the photos and narrations of FledgeFest. I can see that everyone had a wonderful time and I'm so jealous.
With each photo from the nest area I feel as if I'm actually there once again. Thank you one and all.
Harry, in that photo of Solo with his beak open I can hear him yelling out "YES, I CAN FLY !!!"

Hello, friends....Although I'm a new poster (from Montana), I've been watching since Solo was in the egg. I got my mom (Jane, in her 80s in Indiana) hooked, too, and we love Solo and Ma & Pa Sidney. (I imagine that there are many silent observers out there.) We want to express our thanks to those of you who have faithfully stood by, providing weather forecasts and interpreting peeps and screeps and flaps and crashes as the cam has pooped up and pooped out--you guys are awesome. We want to say huge thanks to those of you who have provided photos and videos allowing us to see dear Solo growing from eaglet to juvenile. And thanks to those who attended Fledge Fest and shared the experience.
In saying thank you to HWF for making this all possible, a fundraising suggestion or query: Is it possible to make a selection of picture files available (with the photographer's blessing) for a donation? I wonder how many of us would love to have a picture of Solo and perhaps another of Ma & Pa (um, Harry, are you listening?!?) and would gladly send a donation for jpeg files which we could then have processed. $10 minimum per file (or something in that ballpark) might bring in a nice cash flow with no overhead for merchandise. Just a thought.
At any rate, just wanted to express the gratitude that mom and I share for having the opportunity to be part of the Sidney family of eagles and their admirers. Sincerely, Kath
P.S. I still keep (somewhere on my computer!) the screen capture of that little fuzzy, white ball of eaglet sitting in a parent's shadow! Also, I hope this post appears in the right place!

Hi to all, i came , I saw, and can't remember most of the names but still learning from looking at the pictures. The time went by too fast to really meet and talk to each person but the group was a great group. Special thanks to Larry and Dawn for the joint supper a couple of days before FF, to Elle for telling Laurie and me about the winery eagles( we did see the family - both eagle and human) and I did not get the name of the lady who won the prize for having the most right answers to the quiz. Can someone let us know her name?
I took some pictures with my little point and shoot hand-held camera and will post some of them, for we all took a lot more pictures than need be shown. So, as you look at mine, and some of the others, remember that HarryMilt has a lens about the size of my leg and he can just go out and sit on the branch with the eagles.
Great pictures, Harry. Thanks for making them so realistic for us all. And urbaneagle(Larry) also gets a heap of praise. But, you know, great pictures are not just because of the camera but comes from the eye of camera-man (- non-elitest would say camera-person). It's like telling the cook the meal is good because the chef has a great set of pots to say the pictures are good because of the good camera. It is the hand behind the button, not what the button does.
I will try to number the photos I post just so any identification help can reference the exact photo they are talking about, if it happens. The numbers I use apply only to my posts.
1. David with the lady from Germany, one of my first pictures of the morning

2. The lunch table.

3. One of the last pictures of the day. Ma and Solo on opposite sides of the nest

More picture to come, filling in the gaps of the above sequence.

Hi, again to all,
Sorry about being so slow to get pictures posted, but first I had to get home. Up in the morning at 4:15 to get on the 6:00 flight to Seattle and then on to DFW airport( That is the Dallas-Fort Worth airport, down in Texas, about twenty miles from home) and friends picked me up. So, bags in house around nine o'clock and head on pillow shortly thereafter with head spinning with thoughts of what to do about the tree which was blown down across my fence while I was absent. It still waits, you are more important than that kind of detail.
4. Early in the morning, ma( I think) was sitting in a distant tree. Harry found her and all others spend had to search through the limbs to see her. Some were dimensionally challenged and it took special efforts to find locations where they could also see her.

5. At times, Solo sat on the edge of the nest. Here Solo in on the very left side.

6. But at all times one of the parents was keeping Solo in sight, relutant to tell their offspring "Goodbye." Worried that their help might still be needed, waited for assurance in flight that Solo was capable to be free, of them and the nest. So still they wait.

As I can only get three pics per post, I must leave you now, to return with another post about the life of the three. Bye, now. Mel

The photos from this year's Fledgefest are the best ever. For those of us far away, it's almost like being there.
Please help preserve wildlife and wildlife territories
