Lily the Black Bear has raked bedding up towards the camera. She IS in the den. We are hopeful she will rake that bedding it away soon. 4 hours ago

11:03 she's back in the den. rearranging and moving around. seems to be moving material into the den....at one point had blocked the camera, and then moved whatever it was, into the den

First wild bear birth filmed live
By Matt Walker
Editor, Earth News

The birth of a wild bear may be shown live on the internet, scientists hope.

Bear biologist Professor Lynn Rogers has placed a webcam into the den of a pregnant wild black bear living in the woods of northern Minnesota, US.

He expects the bear, named Lily, to give birth in the coming days, an event never before filmed in the wild.

The footage, which is being streamed live via the so-called "bearcam", should provide scientists with valuable new insights into bear behaviour.
