About 7:00pm EDt

The nest was unoccupied. Mom returned. Walked across the eggs without a glance, nor did she care where she stepped - which was right on top of the eggs.

She perched up on the cross bar, played vocal guard. Dad returned and brought her a fish. She quickly took it and left

Unlike Mom, Dad looked down at the eggs and carefully straddled them with his talons tucked under. Settled down to brood

I know it's my humanizing instinct creeping in - but I feel so sorry for Dad. He's really trying very, very hard. Sad

I did see several matings or mating attempts today. Most weren't from an angle that let me tell if they were likely to be productive.
