Osprey Cam Link



The webcam is recording a pair of mating Ospreys on the Grand River in Breslau. The eggs should arrive soon and incubate 4 – 6 weeks. The young Ospreys will stay on the nest 2 ½ months before migrating south. These birds are one of the most active and interesting raptors to observe. Enjoy!

The first egg was laid on 4/27, first hatch was 6/3, second hatch 6/5 and today there is a third chick I got a feeding pic this AM...one chick is facing backward...hope it figures things out Also, here's a link to two views of the nest.[/b]

Ohh well now I didn't know this thread got set up, thanks Soph. I told Judyb about it back when I found it and never heard back so I had no idea. Let me get it up to date...

June 18th

this is the youngest in the heart



Pa brings them a stuffed squirrel (Ma later throws it overboard)

pa dropped a big clump of green right on the small one in the bowl, it was pretty funny when he popped up out of it. I had no idea he was there!



this was when Ma threw the squirrel over, no more squirrel. Too bad cause they seemed to like it

Ma is such a great mother, until today I had never seen her leave the nest for a second!

June 22nd

wild skies and lots of rain today



the little guy is very much like our Sidney Tiny last year in that he's way smaller but boy he's getting smart! He now positions himself right at the end of Ma's beak when there's food. No question who gets the bite. The older two picked on him quite a bit at first but now he's the one that goes at them and they put him down. He's a little stinker sometimes. This shot not long before he had just been put down but he's right back up for more!
