this chick know how to grasp the fish in her talons..Mom stays side of nest.. we see the chick self feeding and getting many bites as Mom watches..this is the first time i saw the chick self feeding.. she is doing very well...

Good Morning Bev!
I am back home now and trying to get back to reporting early in the morning! Kind of rough after having over 2 weeks of being lazy!
Thank you so much for all the wonderful S'capes and reporting you have done at the nest. I know you have been spreading yourself thin trying to help me out with all my nest! Thank you!!!!

It's so good to see our chick thriving so well now. He has grown a lot even since I was at the nest a couple weeks ago. There were a lot of scares regarding Mom and Dad, but I am glad all is well at our nest.
Ospreys in Florida are like Robins in the north. They are everywhere! I saw the other two Osprey nests that were near ours, but the two dead Ospreys could have been from elsewhere too. All you have to do is look at light poles, cell phone towers, etc and there is an osprey nest!
