queenie, thanks for the video. I was watching then and Lun seemed very restless. Glad you caught the slam dunk from the structure. She's still up to her old MM ways

Hélène, thank you so much for the Lani link. Wonderful to see her bright eyes and fluffy cheeks! Liked that they designated the building as Mei Lan's, just not thrilled with the Quarantine part Sad

LCNessie has a new video: Xi Lan is a boo eating stuffie!!Wub

Thank you, thank you Helene! Lani looks good, she's pacing alot but that's ok. At least she's not withdrawn and crying anymore - now she looks feisty and fierce NoddingWub

Doesn't look like she's too keen on her new keeper yet as I see Heather there and she goes to her but the video is so short, it's hard to judge. Hopefully she'll start to trust her soon.

Thank You

***Edit to add: One of my chinese work friends listened to the video, he said they said she was still very nervous and adjusting to the time change. He said she is drinking water and eating some bamboo and has taken some banana from Heather. So pretty much the same thing Atlanta Zoo reported yesterday except for the 'nervous part' - self evident with the pacing.

New Mei Lan update from Zoo Atlanta:

Thursday, February 11
Mei Lan spent more time resting today. She was asleep when Heather arrived this morning and continued to sleep after Heather’s arrival. Mei Lan is drinking regularly and eating bamboo. She is not, yet, eating as much bamboo as she did at Zoo Atlanta. As we have reported many times about the giant pandas, they can be very selective about their bamboo. The species of bamboo that are plentiful and accessible in the area of the Chengdu Research Base are different from the species plentiful and accessible in Atlanta. It took Yang Yang and Lun Lun about a month to adjust to the bamboo here and start eating bamboo well. So, we expect it’s going to take Mei Lan at least that long too. Most of the bamboo fed to the pandas at the Research Base is brought in on large trucks from the mountains surrounding Chengdu. They have a lot of pandas to feed, and so they truck in large quantities of bamboo. There are also several species of bamboo that grow on the grounds of the Research Base. Ms. Duan has also been cutting these to offer to Mei Lan. So, far Ms. Duan has offered Mei Lan 5-6 different species. Heather said Mei Lan liked one of these better than the others, but so far she doesn’t have a clear favorite.

We have decided to extend Heather’s stay in Chengdu. We hope that some additional days with Heather will help Mei Lan continue to adjust to her new home.

wave Panders thx for everything,~~~ Diana if you can't open the video, she looks better, Smileif they didn't say she was still nervous, it doesn't show as much,Chin glad for the bananas, there was something bigger she loved once, Lun tried to take it all & though Lani gave her the most {Lun's bigger} after a stare-down with tough-love-sharing lesson Lani got to keep some & loved it~I wonder if it was pineapple or something, do they eat thatWub  Pandalover19, a little MM for sure, {I was glad to see him start moving after slam-dunk}:blink:she seemed to want him up for his company, love so kept after him & he finally woke-up, they are so funny together Titter
Maria I had to install the active-X they asked for on the toolbar above, before it would play for me {not the box asking to install language, I don't do that} ~it was a relief thx Hélène for sharing it, she did look lots betterNodding
