Nope, you didn't miss it, Queenie! My guess is with the 4-7 inches of snow around the Atlanta area and temps near or below freezing, the Zoo is operating with minimal crew so there isn't the personnel available to move the cams!!

Pandalover19 Wow, :blink:they ended up with a lot of snow When I posted yesterday from that search {& those older reports}
all you could find was 2-3" of snow & then they got more for the update {& they could have been mistaken then perhaps afraid to exaggerate too early, because they are saying it is the worst winter storm in a decade now for them, so they don't have enough of the road-clearing equipment needed, but brought it in~so wonder if the zoo is even open}:question:

also saw why Lun was standing at the window to her other den yesterday, the door gets closed to clean/re-stock her other den~they gave her treats there today and at outside window

Wednesday, January 12

Sunday and Monday the Atlanta area received snow and sleet. Significant accumulation that lasts for more than a day or two is rare in Atlanta and we are coming to grips with the fact that the snow is still here. Because many roads in the metro area are impassable, it has been challenging to ensure that the animal areas are sufficiently staffed and everyone has been working extra hard. But we have enjoyed watching the animals experience the snow. For some of them it is the first time. Others have experienced it before, but not often. The giant panda are built for snow. Their dense, wooly coats and furry paws make them impervious to cold, wet conditions. But no one told Yang Yang that. He will brave the snow briefly, usually if food is involved. However, he clearly prefers to stay dry and relatively warm (the dayroom temperatures have been around 45). Xi Lan is tougher. He enjoys exploring his snow covered enclosure and manages to look comfortable curled up for an outdoor nap. Lun Lun and her new cub will miss the snow this time. Perhaps they will see some later this year or they might have to wait until next year for a snowy adventure.

& for the update Pandalover19, just as you thought about the staff~I imagine they are glad they don't get that much snow beary often~it can be treacherous~ but am at least glad Lan enjoyed it, poor Yang likes his comfort. Lan is such a roly-poly like his Mom seems to have been at his age, he probably has extra layering

...the other den, again. {after what looks like bathing or cuddling, where she almost gets him in the big pile of doo & then again when they get back} Good Mama Lun sure is careful & cuddly with Wee.

Just got home from work and seems Lun is taking Wee Lan on yet another road trip and there she goes again Ack where is da cubbie!!

carly yes while the door was closed at the end of the cam day for clean-up & re-stocking boo in the next den ~Lun did carry Wee all over the den, and left him in other out-of-cam areas, to which cribbody/aka homebody Wee protested, I'm sure.:huh::blink: yesterday in this video she just paced

...windows and watches door, while it is closed. Wee Cubbie got moving while Lun and the keepers in outside & den windows were all moving. They were getting her boo ready in next den~but Lun doesn't realize this, & is not overly patient still with closed doors.

I saw scenes from Atlanta last pm on TV. Thick ice on the roads and not a soul around..:blink: I suppose all sensible people and animals were all tucked up safely at home.
Poor Lun she is already suffering from being 'locked' up...she seems to be a panda who dreams of the wide open spaces and the mountains to roam....~~

macdoum I agree, and wish they could be free~but know they have it very good in the zoos today~they are so nice~but I wonder if Lun does suffer from some kind of bear-claustrophobia~ :blink:& if the crib is in the middle den, I wonder if they could leave one end den open while they work on the other end ~ of course, there may be some reason why this won't work ~she did this years ago when we watched her with little Lani too

Lun Lun is pacing the den waiting to get into her boo room for a snack. Our little Wee Lan is on the move! He really has his scooting powers down and is moving all around his box. He actually looks like he's getting up on all fours a bit today. What a cutie pie and such a big boy already!
