Today I saw on the chat that they wrote about a color different between the two eggs. I did n`t see a close up today. One egg is white and the other one is light grey specledDon't Know they say.

It's pretty dark at the nest now, but the white really shows up...and that's about all you can see.

It's hard to tell, but are they mating again? Puzzled

Feb 4 1:35 EST

Just now had time to process the images from this morning.

At 1:35pm Dad landed at the back of the nest. His back was to the cam so did not get to see his feet. Mom quickly stood up and literally pushed Dad out of the way and grabbed what ever food it was and began eating. It looked like it had already been partly consumed so was not really identifiable - to me anyway. Maybe Dad ate his share before he brought the leftovers home? Roll eyes

Anna, I don't read the chatter that scrolls down the right hand side of camera page, so I do not know what photo image they are basing that statement on.

But, I doubt if the eggs are different color. The color of the eggs that we see in the cam stream is dependent on the sunlight. If one egg is in bright light, it will appear all white as the sun will bleed any color out. If the other egg is shaded, even just a bit, the egg will appear to have more color.

That is my guess about what they are seeing.

The new egg is a clean white for now. The first egg is discolored, not because of the color of the shell, but because of the snow and the damp nesting material beneath it; and it's been rolled by the parents often as well.
