Welcome to the Marigold Park Eagles thread for the 2013/2014 season. I was told of this nest earlier in the year by my WiTS contact and we have visited the nest together. As far as can be determined, this past year was the 2nd year for this nest in Marigold Park, which is in the Municipality of Saanich, BC. The eagles produced 2 eaglets this year and 2 eaglets the previous year. As there was no dedicated thread previously set up for this nest, I have reported observations and posted photos and videos of the eagles here and here. Please feel welcome to post observations, photos and videos if you visit this nest.

I have heard from my contact person that, as of yesterday, the eagles have not returned yet. Soon fingers crossed

I heard from my contact earlier this week that the eagles have been heard in the park area for approx. 10 days, mostly in the evening and early night time, but not during the day. They call back and forth to each other. I visited the park this afternoon but did not see or hear the eagles. The fog came rolling in and the park was a very eerie place to be standing in Oh My

The eagles have been busy bringing in sticks to rebuild their nest for approx. 2 weeks. I saw both eagles this morning, perched in a nearby tree. The male flew off when a dog ran down the path about 10 mins. after we arrived and the female sat for 20 mins. longer then flew off in the same direction as the male.

I went to Marigold Park this afternoon but didn't see the eagles. It looks like they have added a few sticks to their nest but they need to do a lot more nestorating before egg laying Oh My My contact person said they haven't been around much the last couple of weeks, although she did hear them the other night calling back and forth to each other.

A photo of their nest taken today.
