One of the eagles from the Royal Roads nest (looks like Dad) was busy this afternoon enjoying the sun, fishing and preening.

While I was at Esquimalt Lagoon on Fri. Jan. 3rd photographing the swans & ducks, all of a sudden the ducks and seagulls started squawking and flew off. I looked up to see one of the eagles flying over the lagoon. Photo has been cropped a lot!!

I was at the Esq. Lagoon on Sunday and didn't see the eagles anywhere. I walked down to the area where the nest tree is and didn't see any evidence of the eagles having young in the nest. The nest looks like it hasn't been built up this year Sad

I have seen no activity at this nest this season. I have spoken to a few others who have been watching the nest and they all said they haven't seen any activity either Sad
