Hello everyone the last few days the Brentwood Eagles have been busy rebuilding there nest
Its close to the old nest toward the back of the trees and little higher up. With the nice weather I
will go get a picture tomorrow in the morning. I'm not to happy with the spot they picked
a lot like the last tree Cheers Shane

Shane thanks so much for your report. I had hoped they would rebuild where their old nest was but maybe they want a bit more privacy Wink Or maybe they want to keep their young ones farther away from the busy Wallace Drive Chin

Shane that's a fantastic capture Left thumb up Thanks for posting it. It sure doesn't take them long to rebuild Smile I'll try to visit the nest site tomorrow.

Shane that's a great photo of the new nest. I'm thinking it will be difficult to see when the trees have leaves on them; especially for someone who is short like me Grin It will be interesting to watch over the next few months.

I visited the Brentwood Bay nest area yesterday afternoon and both eagles were at their new nest. I took a few pics as I was walking towards their new nest. As I was chatting with a nice couple from St. Albert, AB, both eagles flew off across the big field then circled higher and higher until they were out of sight. I returned later after my visit to Pat Bay and took a pic of the new nest from the road behind the nest property and saw Mom in the nest. As I was standing on the sidewalk looking up at their new nest Dad flew across the big field with a huge clump of straw/grass in his talons and landed in the nest. I tried to get a pic of him with the straw but I was using my Canon PowerShot which doesn't have a manual focus and it was trying to focus through all the branches in front of the nest. There was a flapping of wings then Dad hopped to the branch beside the nest, rested for awhile, then flew to a tree down at the far end of the stand of trees, where their old nest was a few years ago.

The new nest, taken from up the road. One eagle on the branch and one in the nest.

Here's Mom beside the new nest. It was late in the day and the sun was low in the sky and casting a nice glow on her. I will have trouble seeing this nest when the leaves come out on all the trees Roll eyes
