Welcome to the Beacon Hill Park Eagles thread for the 2013/2014 season. This thread is dedicated to observations and photos of the eagles who inhabit a nest in Beacon Hill Park, in the City of Victoria, BC. Over the years there have been several nests in the park and last season the eagles produced 2 beautiful eaglets. The previous season their nest blew down and there were no eaglets. Info on these eagles for previous years can be found here. Please feel welcome to post observations, photos and videos of the Beacon Hill Park eagles in and around their nest area if you visit the park.

I visited the park this afternoon but did not see any eagles Sad Their nest looks the same as it did in August when the eaglets left. I spoke to one of the park employees and he hasn't seen the eagles since August.

I saw both eagles in the tree next to the nest tree this afternoon at 4:30 p.m. I did not have my camera with mevery embarrassed because the visit was unplanned. Nevertheless it was a thrill to see both of them back and looking tip-top too. They do not appear to have done any nestorations yet.

I was driving along Dallas Rd at 1 PM on Thursday and saw a large bird sitting on top of the totem pole. Couldn't tell if it had a white head and tail but I was pretty sure it was an eagle. Sounds like the same one Elle saw the same day.

Hi Calypso. I definitely saw both of them. There was only one in the tree when I arrived and then the other flew in and landed on top of the same tree. There was a bit of vocalisation but not a huge fanfare so I am not sure if it might have been the initial arrival of one of them or not. I went back today with camera hoping to see them again but no such luck. I will try again soon.

I went to the park early this afternoon but didn't see the eagles anywhere. I stopped again later this afternoon and they were both perched in the tree next to the nest tree. I'll post some pics soon.
