Hi everyone, we just found out that we will be doing a 2014 HWF calendar.

This year David is doing it a little different for the large images. They can only be from the Fraser Valley area.

His Theme:
Hancock Wildlife Foundation: 2014 Calendar
The World's Biggest Gathering of Breeding & Wintering Bald Eagles
"The Fraser Valley Bald Eagles in Focus"

BUT we still need s'caps from all of the HWF cams:

White Rock
Delta #2
Lafarge
Harrison Mills
Mission - Geese included
Victoria Wild ARC Owls
Chehalis Flats Tower
Chehalis River Underwater

CALENDAR NEEDS AND SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

Date for submitting the images:
Submissions as soon as possible. We're already very late in starting this project, so the sooner the better.

Images Needed:

Screen Captures from the HWF cams only for the smaller blocks.

Photographs of any eagles taken by our Content Providers - of HWF / Fraser Valley area eagles.

The judges' selections will be final.

Image Specifications:

The 13 large monthly images must be high resolution shots. Generally 300dpi at 8x10 or higher, which would be around a 40mg image uncompressed.
We may have to crop in - so uncropped and the bigger, the better.
If you're unsure of how your camera works, then please just set it to take the biggest possible image setting. Bring extra camera cards with you as these hi-res shots will take up a lot more space.

The little images throughout the 'blank daily slots in each month' can be lower resolution or screen shots from HWF cams ONLY.

The Non-exclusive-World Copyright is needed by HWF:

Images to be sent only on the understanding that the Hancock Wildlife Foundation may use them in the calendar and promotions free of charge. We will give the photographers credits but not payment for their use. The 13 key shots will also earn the photographer a free calendar.

*******

When submitting images, please include the following:

Name to go on calendar for image credit
Nest name
Nest location
Date picture taken
Short description of what is going on in the picture such as 'Eaglet's first flight' 'Incubating eggs' etc.

Send images to: "Nancy-Calendar 2012" <nancy@hancockwildlife.org>

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks!

Nancy

Little Kopit

I just spotted the info. that we can pre-order the 2014 Calendar now.

& I have some questions.

1. PayPal Funny, funny, funny strange that we can't use PayPal. I use PayPal for every other calendar I order for very similar types of organization. Security ratings on PayPal are much stronger per my bank than by other means.

2. Amount. I'd like to be able to give something more than the $14.95 and not do a separate transaction. Reason - some places have different sized calendars and ask for more $. If I could add on, I'd be able to give as much to HWF as the the most costly calendar.

Please advise

Hi Little Kopit wave

I apologize for the delay in replying - I think many of us are taking advantage of the lull in eagle activity to catch up on other things, and to fit in some family time and travel.

Those are very good questions, and there definitely should be an easy way to place an order for calendars and add an extra amount as a general donation, and I didn't see a way to do that. It may be there, but if neither of us could find it - it can't be as user-friendly as we try to be.

I'm afraid that due to the times I'll be inaccessible and the times Karen will be inaccessible, it's likely to be another week before we can get an answer to your questions - but did want to let you know that I'd seen your questions, and will try to provide some answers within the next week or two.

Thank you for your reply.

I just found out how much the largest and most pricey calendar will be this year, with international postage , $34.00 and through PayPal. As I said I'd like to treat places who give similar programs to me in more or less equal ways.

I will hang on until I get some more detail from you.
