Here are the photos of the 2nd nest which I promised you last week. A Tulsa Chatroom member, NestFinder granted me permission to post them here. She and her husband River were at Sooner Lake Friday afternoon.
These are photos of the 'dead tree' nest, the 2nd nest which previously was thought to belong to a pair of Red Tail Hawks. They witnessed also what the Sutton biologists had seen early last week... our pair of eagles having to defend their nest from an intruder eagle.
Invader above our pair in the nest:

Invader moves in closer to the nest:

Invader escorted away:

Invader flies away:

Our pair can not see this 2nd nest from their original nest as there is a hill between the two nests, which are 1.03 miles apart!

Thank you PandaLover19,
Does anybody know if the invader eagle might be a female or not?

Hi soph, Cal!
soph, last I heard was Sutton has a camera set up at this 'dead tree' nest, and just needed to get electricity hooked up to it, but that shouldn't be a problem!
Cal, no guesses as to whether it is a male or female intruder!

Maybe they are waiting for Alan Jenkins to get back from warm, sunny Tahiti, No, I honestly don't know what Sutton's game plan is!
Talked to NestFinder again last night and asked her whether she thought the intruder was a male or female. She thinks it's a male, a slender eagle with splotches on its back. Also, Alan Jenkins's theory is that it could be one of the Sooner Eagles' offspring, returning to establish his own nest.
