Dad takes over for Mom after 6 feedings




And yes, they switched cameras to the one that is closer to the nest.

Mom is back, and Dad shows up for a 35 minute visit after delivering a fish. Then Mom feeds the 2 eaglets. A possible pip in the 3rd egg?

Dad steps back and reveals the fish he brought to the nest:

Mom has her talons full with these 2. In these scaps she'd stepped away from the nest bowl, but not to feed them. It's very warm and windy in Oklahoma today.

She might have stepped on one of the eaglets, or not. The first scap shows her planting her talon, and then her reaction:



She tried hard to get him back into the center of the nest bowl. Here eaglet #1 is right under her left wing. His head is sticking out!

The NestCam was flickering on and off (mostly off) for the first 1 1/2 hours, but caught part of a feed.

It does seem that the eaglets get bumped about a bit and occasionally stepped on with no ill effects. The adults do take great care to not poke anyone with a talon - but the eaglets are a bit used to being tumbled around, and the first hatched may be bumped into eggs on a regular basis. They seem to be quite a bit tougher than their fuzzy exterior suggests.

Thanks to everyone for all the pics I don't get this way often enough and whenever I do it seems the parents brooding.....

It's nice to see 2 chicks and a third on the way, gonna be getting squishy on that nest for sure
