Thanks Kay...this nest is really good for early evening sun. it was a bonus that the babe was up and about.
This photo i think was dad watching over the nest. He flew in and mom left the nest while I was shooting babe. He gave me a few sideways glances. don't know if he approved.

Kay...nice pics from Anderson Hill. The two below are from Friday as well. Some sideways glances again from I think mom (banded)?

capo, great pics of the FH eagles. Yes the early evening is definitely a good time to take pics; I usually go to the side street behind the fire hall.
Mom Anderson Hill is the banded one. That's a great pic of her 'sideways look'. It's aways tricky to get pics of them without shadows or a little branch getting in the way when they are perched in the tree along the path.

Hi there folks. I've sent some of you an email with a request for some help, but I thought I'd post the message here as well.
I am a reporter with the Oak Bay News, and I am interested in doing a story on the Oak Bay eagles. I was hoping you'd be able to help me out. What really interests me is the number of people who are fascinated with these eagles, and essentially documenting the lives of these birds. If you have some free time in the next few days I would love to go out and check out the nests with you and have you explain to me why you are interested in the eagles, and that sort of thing. It's as though these eagles have become honourary Oak Bay citizens and I think our readers would really be interested to read the story! I'd also be very appreciative if you could connect me to some other eagle-lovers in Oak Bay with whom I could speak.
It would be ideal if we could get together either some time this weekend, or on Monday or Tuesday morning, as I have a Tuesday afternoon submission deadline for the story. Please give me a call any time (I've included my contact numbers in the emails I sent you - if you didn't get an email but would like to help out, send me a message and we can connect).
Any help you can provide would be most appreciated! Oh, and great photos, by the way!
Thanks

Welcome to the Hancock Wildlife Foundation forum Ryan I received your email and have replied. Perhaps we can organize a meeting with myself, daved and capo99 at the same time if we are all availabe.

That would be great! The more the merrier, I say (makes for a better story, too).
I don't know what your availability is, but Tuesday morning would be the absolute best time to meet. Now, I realize that may be difficult if you have to work at that time, so this weekend would be fine as well. It just might require me to make arrangements with one of our photographers to be there at the same time (the benefit of doing this on Tuesday would be that I can bring an office camera with me - something which I don't have access to on the weekend)
Monday would be probably the last resort day, as we are usually laying out Wednesday's paper that day and it's preferable for the reporters to stick close to home so we can proofread (we have 3 different papers to look at!) However if it's absolutely the only time that works, we can make it happen.
Something that would simplify things, however, would be if any of you folks would be willing to supply us with a few of your photos, provided they are of the high-res variety. We usually like to use photos that are at least 180p, so that they don't appear pixelated in print form.
I'll send emails with this info as well. And please feel free to call me at the cell number I sent at any time if you need any clarification or have any questions. I look forward to meeting you!
