I took a few pix of the Golf Course nest and out over Oak Bay from the top of Anderson Hill Park. If you look closely in the 3rd pic you will see an eagle sitting on the island. Click 2X bigger.

The 2nd time I went by the Golf Course nest yesterday the sun had disappeared behind some very dark clouds and it felt like it was going to rain any minute. One eagle was perched in the tree above the nest looking around; it looks like Mom. I didn't see any movement in the nest but the other adult could have been in there lying down. Click 2X bigger.

Thank You elle.

I visited all 3 Oak Bay nests yesterday. When I arrived at Anderson Hill Park, there were no eagles perched in their favourite tree. I was on my way up to the lookout when one of the eagles (I think it was Mom) flew from Beach Drive to the perch tree; she was probably perched on top of the marker at Trial Island. I took some pix from the park before heading off down the path, hoping she would stay put for awhile. She perched on the branch posing for me and when she heard Dad calling she flew off in the direction of the nest. When I walked down the road to the nest site, I could see an eagle in the nest and it appeared to be incubating and moving nesting material around. Here are a few pix of Mom in the tree along the path. Click bigger.

More pix of Mom Anderson Hill taken from the path almost directly underneath her. She was just getting ready to fly in the 3rd pic. Click bigger.

Here's a pic of the Anderson Hill eagle in the nest, and a pic of the nest from the side street. Click bigger.

Thank Youcapo. Yes, I am very happy with my new lens; I'll be even happier in May when I get my new cameraLeft thumb up

I went by the Golf Course twice on Friday and saw one eagle lying down in the nest; I didn't see the other one anywhere. I was there at the wrong time of day for good lightingRoll eyes I was going to take a few pix from the lookout on Anderson Hill but didn't get that far, after seeing the Anderson Hill eagle fly into the perch tree. Here are the only 2 decent pix of the Golf Course nest that show an eagle on the right side of the nest. I am assuming the eagle was incubating eggs; it was probably a bit too early for chicksDon't Know Click bigger.
