Here are a few more from the nest. While I was there they were bringing sticks in to reinforce the nest. They seem to be comfortable with people which makes taking pics much easier. Hope they are successful with their breeding this year. It's a great location.

And, finally some shots when they left the nest to some trees east of the FH. They were alittle further away so the crops are a little course. There was also snow falling during all of the shots.

Great shots capo. The Fire Hall eagles quite often perch in trees at the end of York Place. They have a 2nd nest there

I visited all 3 Oak Bay nests yesterday. When I arrived at the Fire Hall nest I thought I could see the top of a white head down in the nest. I went around to the side street and took some pix but all I could see was a bit of the head, beak and dark body feathers. It appeared to be moving nesting material around and called out a few times. I walked back to the front of the Fire Hall and the one in the nest flew off and landed in the big fir tree at the end of the side street. I could hear both eagles chatting to each other but couldn't see them because I was in front of the scout building. As I was rushing to the other end of the parking lot I saw a shadow overhead but couldn't see the other eagle who was flying to the nest. All I could see was the tail feathers sticking up in the nest. This behaviour makes me think they have an egg in the nest Here are a few pix of the first one in the nest. I didn't see either of the Anderson Hill eagles when I arrived at the park yesterday. As I was crouching in the bushes taking some pix of the Anna's hummingbirds, I heard the eagles calling to each other. I ran down the path towards their perch tree and managed to get one pic before they both flew off. I thought they might have gone to their nest but couldn't see them. It is difficult to see anything in the nest from either street. Click 2X bigger.

The 1st time I went by the Golf Course nest yesterday there were no eagles in sight. I did find this young adult perched in the tree down the road behind the new house, where the adults quite often perch. This one has a few darker ends on its tail feathers and head. Click 2X bigger.
