Liz is going to try and do a Q&A with Bob on Wednesday. If you've got questions that you want answered, you can post a comment to her blog post here:

Hi all. I'm helping a scientist gather information on the possible impact of the Gulf toxins on the anatum peregrine. I need to know if any of you have noticed an increase in the number of non-viable peregrine eggs this breeding season either in cam nests or in your region. Thanks for any information you post on this subject.

On Monday Bobbie apparently got stuck on the balcony of the Church Office Building (the balcony has a high fence and she couldn't get back over it). Bob had to go up and rescue her. Apparently someone managed to capture video of Bob rescuing her (if you listen to Bob carefully, you can catch her band number):

Tragedy strikes twice:

According to Liz, Sally was found dead Tuesday morning on the observation deck of the Church Office Building. Bob took her to have a necropsy done, the current assumption is that she got trapped up there (the fence surrounding the deck is quite high and would be difficult for a young bird to get past - see the video I linked to in my previous post) and since we had the observation of a state holiday on Monday (Pioneer Day), there wasn't anyone working in the building (except perhaps security) and so she didn't get noticed and may have succumbed to the heat. I'm sure Liz will post an update on her blog once Bob finds something out concrete.

Then today I saw an update from the SLC Peregrine facebook page. Amelia had been taken by Bob a to rehabilitator due to some strange behavior that was noticed with her, and apparently she didn't survive the night last night. A necropsy will be done on her as well.

Sad Sad Sad

Here's hoping that Charlie and Bobbie continue to do okay

That is very sad. Sad Do you have a link to the Facebook page? I didn't see it on a search. Thanks.

For those that didn't see Lizzy's blog post, Amelia and Sally seemed to die due to injuries/complications from a large fall (one of which resulted in an infected crop). So Bob wonders if Sally might've been the one that smacked into a window during that first week of fledging. Further details here: slcfalcons.blogspot.com/2011/08/testing-results.html

At least it wasn't from something toxic in the environment (since that would mean the rest of the family were at risk). Keeping my fingers crossed for Charlie and Bobbie to continue doing okay
