Fledge update (11 AM MDT)

The male chick still hasn't fledged and the adults are still feeding him so he may need more strength. He's out of cam range on the ledge so no pics. The 2 females are usually on the nestbox roof and doing a lot of flapping.

Our red.banded male fledged early this afternoon. He had a very nice long ,smooth flight. I missed the first one by minutes but shortly after I witnessed number 2 and 3. He took off again ,not long after his first flight.

I have never, since I have been watching this site , seen such a long and graceful and strong flight by a beginner. Way to go. Now I hope he does not try to many hard things for awhile.

after his 3 fights , he remained at box area with his sisters. they were well fed by mom and dad.
the girls will not be far behind.
I hope weather cooperates , but forecast is not great.

A few shots of them tonight from cam. They were still in box when peter left at 10pm

I will post shots from ground when downloaded
