I was at Muse Winery today and saw Mom in the nest with an eaglet. The eaglet is still very young by the colour of its fuzzy head; it is still light brown. Jane, the owner, said she hasn't seen any eaglets in the nest yet. Here are a few pics. Click bigger.

I'm happy to announce that there are 2 eaglets in the nest at Muse Winery. The owner has been seeing their fuzzy heads every day and says they are quite active now. Good news for our FledgeFest luncheonClapping

The eagles did not disappoint us on FledgeFest day July 7th. There are indeed 2 eaglets in the nest and they are quite young. Their body covering is still tan-coloured fuzz. There was a sub-adult intruder in the area that Mom chased away, while Dad flew into the nest to protect the eagets. The intruder flew overhead a second time awhile later and a second chase was on. The eaglets were up and down and look very healthy. I could see some wing feathers when one of them flapped a few times. Here is a pic of an eaglet looking out over the nest and 2 pics of the first chase. Click bigger.

A pic of Dad landing in the nest while Ma chases the intruder and 2 pics of the eaglets, just after Dad lands in the nest.
