I'm no help when it comes to ID'ing these wonderful birds, but I think it's just amazing what is right above our heads if only we take the time to look up now and then.

Here is a short video that I found about a very rare raptor in Indonesia called a BRAHMINY KITE. It's a beautiful bird and one that I have never heard of before.

Good looks are not a prerequisite to a faithful relationship. In fact, black vulture society makes sure of that. They have been known to attack other vultures that have been caught philandering!

Here is an interesting article about a mating pair of Condors in California.
I have visited the Condor recovery project at the Wild Animal Park in San Diego.
It is fascinating to see these birds up close. They do good work and are starting to get results.

there is a great Osprey nest not far from my house. Last year Mallard ducks took it over and this year, today I saw the male and female building their nest. The female was eating a fish when we stopped by for the second time today. First time was the male building like crazy and calling out to his mate...second visit and YES we saw both. We did not have the best cam with us but here are some pics....I am going to try and visit this nest maybe each weekend if i can....
