I just checked with Ken. He got the server going again, but as you've probably noticed, that didn't get the White Rock cams going again - so now he's contacting Peter at WildEarth so he can restart or reload something at his end. Keeping fingers crossed that all will be up and running soon.

Annie. I just saw your post so immediately wrote to Peter at WildEarth. The reply I just got from him was that I should read the attached email sent to some of our admins yesterday. He wrote, "I cannot connect to nor ping the server we are picking up the stream from." Since that was yesterday's correspondence I guess we are to conclude that nothing has changed. So now you know what we know. Hope the cams will be back soon.

As I understand it, normally when the server is restarted at our end, and then the encoder or server or whatever is restarted at the WildEarth end, the WE computers should be able to pick up the new IP address from our servers automatically - but that didn't happen this time. Mike is sending Peter the IP address for the server so it can be entered manually - which should solve the problem. Deep breath - count to 10 for the signal to get here from South Africa - and let's go see!

Thanks to Ken, Mike and Peter! And thanks to Annie, Karen and the others who stayed on top of this. I'm afraid it's a very busy time for me right now, so I wasn't checking as often as I should.

I'm getting a bit of buffering, but both are streaming. Am hoping we'll be able to get faster servers or a faster internet connection when we do the upgrades in the next couple of months.
