Very interesting reading, Ladies,
Thank you! Somehow I thought it was usually the female eagles who would fight to take over each other's nest. Learning something new everyday on this forum.

It's hard to be positive who was who - but 2007 Dad's sore leg/foot usually was obvious when he spent much time in the nest. And it did look as if Mom mated with whichever male showed up - which makes sense from a survival of the species perspective, though we weren't happy with her at the time. She seemed more comfortable with Dad - but her commitment seemed in some ways to have been more to the nest than to him. (Though of course our viewing was colored a bit by our human perspective.) It was an educational experience, though not one I'd like to repeat. I was quite amazed at how vicious the fights between the two males seemed to be.

Kinda glad I wasn't watching the 2007 drama. :cry1:
Thank you for sharing the story; another eagle lesson learned.
Me too, JudyB; hope 2007 Dad is happily retired and has room service.
Kicked myself yesterday for not posting a pic of the morning sunrise (fire dance on water). Just knew I would never see anything that beautiful again. However; this morning the world turned to copper on the Maine Coast. Some of you may have missed it so here is the beautiful Copper Maine Coast, 18 Mar 2010.

What has happened to the camera - it hardly shows the nest at all now?

Hi PEB,
Looks like it has zoomed-in on the bird on the end of the middle branch.
:dunno:

Thank you for the beautiful morning picture, CAL - must admit that while I'm up at that hour, my eyes aren't always open.
PEB, they zoomed in on the nest a day or two ago - and when they're zoomed in this tight and it's windy, the nest often blows out of view. I'm pretty sure we'd see if there was an eagle in it - but it would be easier to watch if they'd pull it back just a little bit.
