Welcome to the Lochside Eagles -- 2012/2013 Season thread. The nest is on private property on Lochside Drive which runs parallel to the Pat Bay Highway. The Lochside Drive eagles have successfully fledged many eaglets during the past few years, although there was no documentation of any eaglets in the nest this past season. The Lochside Drive eagles are often seen perched in the tall trees along Lochside Drive near their nest, as well as in trees along James Island Road.

Information and photos of these eagles can be found in the previous years' thread here: Lochside Eagles. Please feel welcome to post your observations and photos of these eagles whenever you visit their area.

I went by the Lochside Dr. nest this afternoon and one of the eagles flew over the road in front of me and across the field across the highway. On my way back from Sidney one of the eagles was perched in the tree down by the water. No pictures; I was driving Sad

I saw the Lochside eagles yesterday, perched in different trees down the road from their nest site; they were calling back and forth then flew to different trees.

I saw both the eagles this afternoon, perched in the same tree near the nest tree. The weather was sunny/cloudy and I had to wait for a break in the clouds to get these pics.

The nest looks like they have been working on it. The last time
I drove by a few weeks ago one of the eagles was in the nest.

Our annual fundraising is underway and we need your help.

We have a challenge underway to see how many HWF families and nests can be adopted during this "wave." Hope you ride the wave and help make this a huge success!

Thanks for your continued support.
