Welcome to the Oak Bay Eagles thread for the 2012/2013 season. There are 3 nests in the Municipality of Oak Bay that have been monitored by the locals for many years. The Fire Hall nest is in a tree behind the Oak Bay Fire Hall; the Golf Course nest is in a tree in front of the club house at the Victoria Golf Course; the Anderson Hill nest is in a tree on private property near Anderson Hill Park. With the exception of the Golf Course eagles who did not produce any young last season, and a tragic event at the Fire Hall nest a few years ago, all 3 of the eagle pairs that inhabit these nests have been successful in raising many eaglets during the years the locals have been observing them.

Information and photos of the eagles from these 3 nests from previous seasons can be found here: Oak Bay Eagles Please feel welcome to post your observations and photos of the eagles that inhabit these nests if you visit their nest area.

I did a tour of all 3 Oak Bay nests yesterday. I didn't see the Fire Hall eagles anywhere but did see one of the Golf Course eagles perched in the tree down by the water; it looked like Dad and he looked very healthy Left thumb up Welcome back Sitting eagle

The Anderson Hill eagles are both back and looking very healthy Left thumb up They were not in their perch tree when I arrived but as I was walking down the road past their old nest site, one flew out from the trees and across the road toward the park. When I got back to their perch tree Dad was there. A few minutes later Mom arrived and was greeted by Dad who flew back towards the nest site 5 minutes later. Welcome back Sitting eagle Sitting eagle I'll post some pics later.

Wonderful news Kay, half your Oak Bay parents have returned! Clapping Safe returns to the remaining 3. fingers crossed You got some wonderful shots in our glorious fall sun! I especially like the shot of Dad Anderson leaving the perch tree. Left thumb up That golf course nest looks significant. If I remember correctly there were no juvies last season to dismantle it? Green LOL
