wowie I just found this thread!!! Hey to Bev and Ralph and all the lovely volunteers at OWL.
Gee Jewill I always loved yours and Ellens reports on what goes on during your time at OWL! Bandit wasn't the only reason I followed that thread on the old site, you guys were and all the great work being done!
That was really great about 'love being in the air' back in your March post and how the parents are allowed to raise their young if it happens! Now there's a story I'd love to follow. I've got 4 pages to read so I'm not going to comment on it all but I'm soooooooo glad this thread is here and I hope you guys keep us informed on all the critters and activities. awww I'm just reading about the 'love bug' cat that strayed into the property and wooohooo to the pigmy Owl being released! yipppeee I see the love bug got a loving home!
Into April now and Goldy laying eggs that are probably infertile. oh oh down to one egg already and sounds like the Open House was going great! ooppps no eggs now already.
Oh wow great shots BOP!!
May now holy doodle that's a lot of babies that fell out of nests Jewill! awww look at those faces would ya! I have to say Owls kind of freak me out but still all babies are cute to me and I love that litte dinky one! I'll put a check in the mail to help a little with food costs
omggg those little ducklings are just precious!!
Gorgeous pics from your visit too Kay...wooohoooo
yipppeee Jewill I'm up to June now! Boy that's something that Emily could just walk up and grab that baby Owl. How great to read all the babies are going well
awwww I'm so sorry about the death of the baby Barred Owl how sad. But you can take comfort that you guys tried! woooooohoooooooo I love Ellen's pics and I miss her very much I hope she shows up here again. (Pleeeease Ellen?)
Oh good I see now the 6 baby Owls have graduated one more step to freedom. That's amazing considering what they looked like when they got there.
ohh more sad news! I'm so sorry about curious George! Sneaky guy he was getting you when you weren't looking, you guys will miss him very much. It will be interesting to read the results when they come back on what he died of. I guess from your note 12 was bang on the average then so maybe it was just natural causes.
thanks for the info on Lucy's ride out there, I think I'll just keep it simple and send a check
tah dah!!!! I'm caught up! bring on more I want babies and lots of them!
I would rather spend my life close to the birds than wishing I had wings

Hi Lori and welcome back to OWL!
I went through my previous posts and discovered that the link to the interview that Breakfast Television did at OWL on March 22nd no longer worked; it now points to a story about a cat. So I went looking through their website and found it again. Here it is:
BT Interview at OWL March 22, 2010
It is about 8 minutes long, and there is a commercial at the beginning. On viewing it again I see that Demon was in Intensive Care at the time - as I recall he had not been eating for several days so he was brought in for observation but turned out to be just fine (not hungry I guess); 1 of the 3 juvies at the end was the one that was released at Open House. I thought I'd post this interview again because it is still so relevant as to what goes on at OWL.
