This looks much more like a nest - let's hope they make it their own!

I'm looking forward to watching this nest again! Thanks for the great pics of the cleaning.

I'm going to ask Richard to pull the WA cam back a bit - if I remember correctly, the eagles spent a month or two coming and going to the tree before they started visiting the nest, so I think we'd have a better chance of seeing them with a wider view.

I just checked the 2011 Timeline of Significant Events and the adults weren't seen visiting the nest until February 10 - but that may be different this year because they know they have a nest - their old nest had collapsed before the 2011 nesting season, and they might not have realized it had been rebuilt for them.

Yes, Judy, that's a good idea. When the cam is pulled back, we can see them fly in and out a lot better. I'd like to see it pulled back as it was at 1:12 in video below:

That is such a lovely video, beans. And they are such a dedicated pair - I so hope....

I suggested a slightly higher view when I emailed Richard - more like this:

My thought was that we saw them more often in that upper left corner than we heard them below the nest, at least until they began working on the nest.

Richard and Ken are generally quite patient as we try different things, so we can rethink that if it seems there's activity below the nest.

I hope the video still plays. For a while, it was "stuck."

I like the higher view, too.

The Archives are working now! I couldn't get them to work for me when the eagles were there.

For those of you who missed this (or would like to see it again), here’s the tree climber doing a thorough job of cleaning the camera lenses. We hope these loyal eagles raise two healthy eaglets next year!

Someone was checking out the newly refurbished nest....




I do hope it wasn't to his/her liking - the raccoon just stayed a minute or so, looked up the tree trunk, then went off to the left.
