WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 10, 2010

GOOD MORNING:

I received an email from Bev Day late last night.
She said that Ma and Pa are spending their time high up in the nest tree and have been chasing a few other eagles away from the area on a daily basis. It's possible that having intruders around have kept them from spending time working on their nest. Don't Know

Bev will be having a "critter barrier" installed around the bottom of the tree trunk to keep the raccoons from climbing the tree.

The folks at Critter Care have also told Bev that the eagles will eventually chase the raccoons away. Let's hope they're right.

WE HAVE AN EAGLE ! Nodding

Eagle drops down from up above and lands on the outer branch. Looks as if this could be Dad.
Stays for only a moment before flying off. He kept looking at the upper part of the tree before he flew off.

wave It's good to see an eagle at the nestNodding Great news from Bev. Racoons are cute critters but I wouldn't trust them at allMad From what the neighbours at the Oak Bay Fire Hall nest have told me, we all believe it was racoons that caused the tragedy last spring.
