Adult is incubating the eggs as the wind blows... this cam does not have sound.

By the looks of the broad head and square neckline I would think this is Mom on the nest.

Mom(?) just changed position, but by the time I noticed movement and looked up, she was down. No clue if she provided a glimpse of the eggs or not.

there is a dirt smudge on the left side of the beak at the moment

It is VERY quiet. Do we have sound for this camera?

It's my understanding that there is not sound. It's my impression that this is a fairly developed area, so the background ambiance might be more traffic than gentle little bird noises. The mic would also be quite a ways from the nest, making it less likely we could hear things like little peeps. Not sure if it's something that might be added next year - a question for Richard.

I did have a peek at the eggs a little while ago, and noticed that the slightly darker one that we think is egg #2 is still there - which means that there shouldn't be a large age difference between the two chicks.

Ah!! I hadn't thought about the egg colours again. You are right though. If that was #2 then we either have eggs 1 & 2 or 2 & 3. Either way hatching should be 'normally close together'

the more I thought about it I figured no mic. It will be a very different experience for me I've never tied to follow a nest with no sound.

based on the smudge on the beak the same adult is on the nest now as earlier.
feathers look wet... and it is indeed raining here on the lower mainland.

This is indeed very exciting despite no sound as of now. I have followed this story since last year so am very pleased to see the cam is working now.

Mom is incubating the eggs. The wind looks fairly strong. Why is it the Moms always seem to come up with dirty beaks, lol.

Wind continues and adult continues to look around and incubate. She does seem to have wet feathers.
