Urmas has climbed the tree and got the cameras going for the season!
There is no guarantee that the usual storks will return here - so we can watch this beautiful nest and see what transpires! Grin

I copied here Urmas's message from Looduskalender!!

Today we with Joosep used fine weather to install Black Stork nest cam.
Last year we had two cameras on the nest, but now there is one - to secure power sufficiency for streaming. Two cameras need twice energy, but our batteries in forest are not very fresh already... Nevertheless, the camera is the newest possible from Mobotix producers store at the moment - we will see if that gives also better quality.

The snow in forest is quite deep over rubber boots and in lower places there is water under snow (the ground is frozen), but the fields are almost clean. Yesterday (probably) first BS was observed in SE Estonia, near Latvian border.

The migration map for our tagged birds will open in Monday - by current data no one of these birds are in Estonia, but Oss and Valdur are not far.

A Black stork was seen at the nest today!
No rings were seen - so we don't know who this is - not one of our regulars! Grin

Here they are again - 7:30 pm
They are really making themselves at home - which will be intersting as Padis has been seen in the area!
