Won't the two of them please show up in the nest together so we can know for sure they are both back. Stick behaviour is so like Pa, but the picture isn't good enough to tell for sure. Since there was an eagle call heard yesterday ( was it at 3:00 p.m. by Velma?) I am thinking that may have heralded Pa's return. No reason for a call otherwise. Wishful thinking perhaps but the suspense is excruciating. Show yourselves Ma and Pa Sitting eagleSitting eagle

Are ya'll ready for some fancy artwork? Wooh I was looking at the nest and thinking about how the close up looks. Remember when the trunk was at high noon and just slightly to the left was that tree that we'd catch Ma or Pa sitting in or flying out of? Also we watched our beautiful babies fledge to it. I've marked it out in this pic where it was (questionalbe artwork) and pointed out which one it is now on this view. At least I think I've got it right cause you just turn everything a bit to match. The brown lines represent where the trunk was and the balcony was

Im loving this

Hello back to 'ya Lori and regarding your map of the nest now vs then, when any of them were on the "lookout" branch it was overlooking the water. My sense of direction is worse than pitiful so I'll have to think about it. Is there a publication called "compass directions for dummies"? Knowing you, you will have a very good answer without involving books and publications. Goodnight y'all. Edith

Laugh Edith! You know me tooo well...hehe. So what you thought was water was actually the roof of the Epicure building. Now don't go feeling silly about that cause we all thought it at some point. When the sun hit and it shone the way it did, it did look like water. Just use my most spectacular (yuck yuck) drawing and do the mental turn in your mind I describe. Maybe that will help you and lets hope we never travel together or we'd not be seen again cause I have nada sense of direction either

I've marked the wobbly that was postioned over at the 1 o'clock area. Move it there in your mind, swing it counter-clockwise to the old postion and the trunk will come also to the 12 noon position. If that were the case you'd again be seeing the Epicure water-like roof

One good thing about the rain - it is washing off the smudge left on the lens cover!
Our view of the nest is decidedly sharper Grin

Good Morning Friends,

These are my thoughts as I logged on today and saw Richard's post about the new cam installations at White Rock. I also posted this at Ea.

As I came on the HWF site this morning I see where there has been some super cams installed at White Rock's eagle nest. It is very exciting, but those super cams are what I was hoping for the Sidney nest. This is the description that Richard posted:

While the new White Rock #1 nest cameras are not yet on line, here are a couple of shots taken from them showing the views we'll get from the two cameras at night.

There are infrared lights (the eagles cannot see the infrared light, only the cameras can) placed close to the camera near the nest and they're bright enough that the camera in the next tree can see by them.

These Axis 1346E cameras are high definition fixed-focus cameras - but we're only seeing a small sample of what they can do. We'll be using their digital zoom to focus in on various areas of the tree as the eagles come in, fix the nest, lay eggs and hopefully raise a new batch of eaglets.

In the background of the wide-angle view you can see South Delta on the far side of Boundary Bay. The camera is looking close to exactly West.

That Axis 1346E is what I think we all thought would have been installed at the Sidney nest instead of the cam with it poor resolution and clarity that was installed and only hope for the close up cam to be wired sometime.

All I can say is that I'm truly sad that so little has been done to bring the beautiful Sidney nest and its wonderful eagles to us in high definition. I have emailed Richard, David, and KarenB about the poor Sidney cam situation. We will have to see what they do to make it right.

Everyone have a good day, and keep your talons crossed it might help.Smile
