3:04 EZ in don't see anything in his talons and he's just standing there, why when there's no food who knows! The cam is a touch to low at the moment to see the head

3:10 there we go he preened 1's back

Click on image to download

3:13 he wisely gets outta Dodge before BR sees him preyless

There may be a very small dark grey 'piece' of something where he was standing but he's still wise to get back out there

3:34 chickies alseep all in a row across the bowl

3:46 wee guy stretched his leg and the other one nibbled on it :lol:

4:04 woohoooo we have a squirrel for them now and I think BR brought it with her! feeding 4 starts with 2 peeping like crazy and 1 watching from the back laying down

4:17 this feeding is loud with peeping and very vigorous eating

4:22 the back chick that I believe to be #1 moves in to take part and gets a huge bite right off the hop

4:29 1 chick is done and I think BR is eating some with the other two

Click on image to download

chatters including Culley were talking about how tough squirrel hide is and we can see that with the extreme amount of pulling BR does for each piece

4:33 looks dark and starting to get windy like it might rain some more and BR is looking around. Feeding is over but can't see how much of the squirrel is left.

4:34 wow #1 is really changing!

5:22 BR fed 2 of the chicks that 'piece' of prey EZ brought earlier

5:24 BR left

5:41 she came in with a moustache of bark

6:15 I got back to feeding 5 in progress, not long after the wee guy backed up for a poo shot and stayed away. He's got a wee crop but holy cow boy eat while the gettins' good. His needs are a little less but still

Click on image to download

6:27 the other 2 are still right in there.

6:31 there's #2 finished, he lays beside the little guy and they share a smooch

Click on image to download

now just BR and the #1 are going and there's fur flying as BR cleans the squirrel, she doesn't always do that wonder why this time?

6:40 the entire bottom right quarter of the nest is covered in fur and BR and the chick are still at it. She moved the squirrel up a little more into nest

6:45 she left after swallowing what was left whole! we're back to no prey on the nest

out for the day, will be back for summary Out

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
DAILY SUMMARY
Nest Times for Parents - EZ was in but not for long today, only to drop of sticks and prey. BR was only off a couple of times but otherwise stayed close
Prey items delivered - 2 chipmunks (BR once again removed the small bird delivered last night), a very small piece of UNP (unidentified, non-flying prey) maybe vole, all by EZ. 1 squirrel by BR
Nesting materials brought - 3 stick with greens and 1 bark BR, stick EZ
Feedings - 5 - + 1 late aft snack on that 'piece' of prey, all by BR
Weather - rain early, 57 degrees by 11 and 62 by 1 pm with a high of 67 and no further rain, cloud cover all day.
Physical Report - #1's changes are really, really clear now with the other two also but not as obvious. This shot is good to see tail growth and wing feather growth or lack thereof for ID's
Click on image to download
Intake and output - good for all 3
Milestones - The little guy did his first real flapping session and not so much a milestone...but they're all much more active with each day
Ages - 1 is 21 days old, #2 is 20 days and #3 is 18 days
