Lori, I was not sitting at the computer when he flew in, just saw something and I ran and snapped. So he could have had prey and I missed it. The second s'cap above is right when he left and there is no prey visible, unless it is closer to her. When I saw him, I thought he was eating, so he may have taken it with him. Lots of food on nest.

I took a s'cap right now and it looks like there is another vole or something that I can see now that she has moved.

These hawks seem to really prefer pigeon for the lets - they seem to be feeding from pigeons nearly all the time so far. Someone who watches the NYU hawks said those ones seem to almost never have pigeon and they're eating rodents. Ezra brought a mouse earlier this morning and Big Red didn't seem to be too impressed with it.

thanks Nanc, I updated my notes for tonights Summary. Tweet feed says Ezra brought mouse this time

Ostrich there's been plenty of voles to eat on the nest and only 1 pigeon

2:16 loud peeping heard, they must be getting ready for a snack. BR remains down facing 6

Ostrich, they ate the pigeon when there was very little left of it even though there were 2 voles in the nest. Definitely a preference for pigeon! Thanks for that information.
Earlier, it looked like a vole meal. I could see the tail.

maybe she doesn't like the feel of fur in her beak Nanc Titter

As we've seen with all the eagle nests... what they eat is based on where they live so no two nests are likely exactly the same in their eating habits

chick laying across the back just fired off a poo shot then fell there and the pecking begins!

Lori, you are fast! Poor Ezra was only on the chicks for a minute or two and BR came in and chased him right on out.
I got a s'cap where he looks like he sees her coming.
