Hi all, checking in on our Srathcona Park love birds,
great video/stills of the two of them in the nest urban Eagle.
Looks like the old nest is the nest of choice this season.
I know you guys and girls are busy, we really appreciate the time it takes you to upload
and post observations on top of it.
Thanks, I will be looking for future updates. when you get the time.
This week/end, hopefully, you all will see an indication of an egg being protected in the nest

Strathcona is close to work, so I have dropped by several times over the past week. It seems there is always one in the nest. Sometimes there are very low and hard to see, but I have always found at least one at home. My camera is back from repair tomorrow, so hopefully I'll get some better images for you. Today, I took some snapshots with my point and shoot. I was there just before 5pm, and waited about 20 minutes. The mate arrived and sat on the opposite side of the nest tree, about 20 feet higher than the nest. The two called back and forth to each other for a minute, then all was quiet, and the seem to settle in. So I headed home. The days are getting longer, so we will have much better light for photography. Hopefully the cold weather will keep the leaves out of the way for a week or two longer than normal.

Dropped in to Strathcona around 11am. One adult low in the nest, and hard to see, but definitely there. While I was looking around for a better spot to see the one in the nest, I found out where the mate was hiding. It was in a tree 500 - 750 feet west of the nest tree. (on the far side of the caretakers house). It was happily just sitting there doing nothing I stayed about half an hour, but there were not very active today, so I moved on to the PNE nest. I'll post a couple of pictures after I process them.

I stayed for a good hour and a half with Ma not leaving and saw Pa flying in the thermials overhead, but did not come to the Nest.
With Delta 2 having laid there first egg I'm pretty sure that the Strathcona pair have done the samefingers crossed
