Well, this is the morning after the big storm! My husband went to Saxe Point with the dog last night about 5:30. The park had been closed off due to branches and trees having come down. He couldn't get in to check on our eagles. I do hope they made it unscathed in the overnight storm!

Karen, I'm so glad you had a chance to go to Saxe Pt. Park today. I saw a huge tree across the road into the park on the local CHEK News and I was worried that the nest tree might have suffered some damage. I've been trying to get over a cold and cough and haven't been out to see any of the nests for quite awhile I'm certainly glad to hear the nest is OK and that you saw one of the eagles. Chances are, the other one was probably in the nest brooding

I was at Saxe Point yesterday - didn't see MA & PA but did see a juvie being chased by three seagulls and, as an aside, an otter feeding on the rock just outside the little bay under the nest tree.

Karen, I'm wondering if one of the eagles was in the nest incubating an egg or brooding a chick:dunno: I wonder if the juvie was the one hatched in that nest 2 years ago I didn't have time to get over there Thurs. so I'll try for tomorrow.

That's great you saw an otter. When I was parked on Constance St. looking at the eagles one day 2 years ago an otter sauntered across a driveway and the road right beside my car. I had my car window open and my zoom lens on my camera and it was too close to focus before I actually realized what it was. It disappeared between 2 houses on the water side.

I went to Saxe Pt. Park yesterday and both eagles were there. I went to the end of the side street on the other side of the little beach beneath the nest tree and saw Dad perched at the top of a tree near the nest tree and saw the top of Mom's head and beak in the nest. I took a few pix and then went down into the park. As I was walking down to the beach I was chatting with a lady and didn't see Dad flying out of the tree until he was too far away to get a pic. I took several pix of the nest from different vantage points but didn't see Mom get up at all, so I'm assuming she was incubating eggs Here are a few pix. Click 2X bigger.
