I went to see the eagles today. Pa was in the nest with the eaglet and after digging in the nest a bit he got up and flew to the branch beside the nest. The eaglet was up and down fussing about and exercising its wings. I took lots of pics from many different vantage points and will post some tomorrow.sleepy

I was at my friend's house and got these photos of the Saxe Point eagles yesterday. They were not good because the light was not right from that view point between 10:00 and 13:00. However, I can make out 2 eagles in the first two pictures and one in the third although one lady insisted there were three.

waveKaren, If you look closely at most of my pics of the nest that I took from the end of Constance Ave. you will see what appears to be a dead bird, perhaps a crow, on the left side of the nest. You can see its wings sticking up.

Here are some pics from Sat. afternoon. The 1st pic was taken from the rocks beside the beach and you can see the eaglet's head over the side of the nest. The 2nd & 3rd pics were taken from the rock bluff above the beach. Dad was in the nest with the eaglet and then flew to the branch, where he sat for a very long time. Click 2X bigger.

Here are a few more pics of Saxe Pt. Dad and the eaglet. The 1st & 2nd pic were taken from the rock bluff above the beach; the 3rd pic was taken from the trail above the beach. These eagles are very tolerant of humans and dogs; it is a favourite area for many dog owners from far and wide. The dogs have a great time frollicking on the beach and swimming out to fetch sticks in the water. Click 2X bigger.

Here are 2 more pix of Saxe Pt. Dad, perched on the branch beside the nest, taken from the trail above the beach. The 3rd pic is the eaglet fussing around in the nest just after Dad flew to the branch, taken from the rock bluff above the beach. I didn't see Mom anywhere. Click 2X bigger.

These pics of the eaglet were taken from the end of Constance Ave. just before I headed home. I was lucky to be there at the time the eaglet decided to have a few good wingercizes. Dad had been perched on the branch beside the nest the entire time I was at the park and he was still there when I parked my car on Constance Ave. Just as I was getting out of the car he decided it was time to go get some dinner and flew off behind the nest tree so I didn't get any more pics of him. Here are the last pics I took of the eaglet on Sat. from the end of Constance Ave. S/he was looking for Dad after he flew off. The 1st pic was taken with my Canon PowerShot on the 2.3X digital zoom. Click 2X bigger.
