Good Morning Friends!
Sorry I haven't been posting but I've been trying to get caught up and back into the swing of reality. The two weeks I was gone was wonderful and relaxing..... everything I needed so badly.

First off... Bev, I loved your pictures of Halifax! Maybe one day I can get up there and see the beauty you enjoy all the time!! Glad you are finally getting some much needed time away. I know you wore yourself out helping watch my cams while I was away. I will check in on yours now, my friend!

I promised to post pictures of our trip and they are finally dowloaded to my computer. I will start with the house we rented. It was a little fisherman's cottage with two bedrooms, living room with fireplace, dining room, piano room, kitchen and walk in shower in the bathroom. And.... I coudln't believe my eyes when we arrived.... the house was my favorite color! .....YELLOW!

House front. Both the front and back yard was fenced in so even though the homes are close together down there, we had lots of privacy. The owner had plants and shrubs planted around the fence line.

A little firepit in the corner of the front yard for cooler days. The temps were in the 90's during our stay so needless to say, we didn't use this section of the yard! giggle

A baby Bluejay met us at our front door one evening. We weren't sure if he fell out of his nest or not. If you look at his feet, they look twisted. Don and I kept watch on him the rest of the evening and next morning. If the parents had not come to him and fed him, we were prepared to take him over to the SeaBird Sanctuary just down the road from us. I guess all was well with him and he finally flew away with Mom and Dad!

I'll continue posting a few pictures here and there as time allows. I will be gone this afternoon for a few hours so I need to do some reporting on my nests. BBL

Jean, me too! That is a very pretty little house (actually a nice size).
It seems warm and cozy.
So glad you enjoyed.......

And each day when I go out I bring my binoculars and camera to watch the hawks... photos below!

Jean... what a lovely place you rented! I sure hope the poor birdie is ok.

Carolyn.. poem was great as usual.

Sara.. Magnolia flowers were so pretty! Hope all is well.

Bev... your photos of the lighthouses and waters are alwyas a treat to look at. thank you for the loon scapes too. I will have to check on them soon.

Donna...
the 'hawklets' are getting so BIG! Here are a few photos from yesterday.

Barbara, Cherie, Cecilia... hope all is going well

look at the full crop on the one in the center!!! he's going to burst!
they were not too cooperative for the photo shoot yesterday... better ones later. I was hoping to get them wingersizing but I got tired of standing there!

Good Morning Friends!

Mom Hellgate laid her 3rd egg early this morning~! Whoooohooooo!
Congratulations Mom and Dad!
I really didn't think we were going to have a 3rd egg as today is 5 days since the 2nd was laid. I just pulled up the cam and observed her unrest and so I ran a video. I should have it all on tape, but the way they are streaming now and I have to record in full screen, it is taking a long time just to convert it to a WMV file. I've been talking with Heiko and I think he will change back to streaming through Livestream tomorrow rather than the University's server. They used their server last season and we had a lot of freezing of the cam as well as blackouts. I would rather deal with some ads from Livestream and have the cam running full time rather than no ads but lost video!!!

Here's the s'cape I captured this morning when Mom finally stood up to admire her 3 eggs:

Back.....
Its a week today this evening when we returned home from vacation. I think I am about caught up finally.

I have read all the post and enjoyed all the pictures posted...... Bev's Halifax scenes, Sara's Magnolia flowers, Diane's hawks, not to forget Carolyn's poem.

All my vacation pictures are downloaded to the computer now, so I will slowly post them and take you to Florida to see the wonderful two weeks we enjoyed!

This was the dinning room at the cottage.

A little piano room was just off the dinning room. I was excited when I learned they had a piano so I brought along some music to play. Well..... when I opened it up and tried to play...... a lot of keys didn't work and the piano was soooooooo out of tune it would scare anyone that was nearby! So much for playing piano!Rolling on floor laughing

As you can see the boys were at home at the cottage. Not sure where Pitina was at the moment this was taken as she is usually snuggled besides Xel-Ha who was in the pink bed. The baskets are in front of the fireplace and I was disappointed that I totally missed taking a picture of it. It was a very unusual fireplace the way the chimney was covered over above the mantel. It almost looked like a "second thought" when the house was built.

Good Morning

Wow Jean 3 chicks at Hellgate. I think there could be 3 at Dunrovin also, but now the cam is farther away and it is really hard to tell. I am hoping all works out at Dunrovin with the Cornell stream. It seems to be ok so far.

The cottage looks nice for a vacation spot. Thanks for sharing, but how disappointing that the piano did not work.

Diane I love the hawk chicks and your pictures are so clear. I would not get any nests watched on cam if I had them in my yard. Thank you so much for taking the time to share them with us. Friday the kids went next door to play and mama Kennedy was pacing the yard and house. She did not like them being over there. When they came home 3o min later she inspected them and whined at them and then took off running all over the yard. IT was rather amazing that she was so concerned. (Maybe she wanted to be there too. lol)

It has been busy here with confirmation, graduation, gardening, etc etc. Next week there is one more "event" and then it is on to summer vacation.
