Jean - Beautiful picture of Dad osprey. Wonderful to see him "in bird". When you go to Fort DeSoto look for the Great-Horned owls. The whole area was fenced off when we were there a few weeks ago. I would think "junior" & parents may still in that area. They are near the very end of the park/beach parking lot among Australian Pine trees. Glad you're having a good time.



Bev - Sorry to learn about Phoebe's nest. I imagine she'll be renesting in no time. I don't think I know Sassy Kay (she's not Kate from MI, is she?). Great you're getting to meet another eagle watcher .

Sara - Yes, I heard about the moon also, but thanks for the info. I need to check the website. Hope you've been a little less busy lately.

Hey Carolyn - Sounds like you're hotter than we are. It's been mid-80s, but very pleasant a.m. and p.m. Apparently, our up-coming rainy season is going to be really rainy (imagine that!) and get us out of our long-time drought. As long as it doesn't involve a hurricane, it's fine with me.

Diane - Enjoyed your St. Augustine pics. I still have my Fort pics from Savannah on the camera - I'll get to them.

BTW - The wood duck box that the screech owl unsuccessfully nested in is now occupied by mom wood duck. I was near the box the other day and she flew out (didn't know she started "sitting".) I'll stay clear. Sometimes dad sits on top of the box - cute.

I've been out of the loop again for a few days, but doing fine. Got a phone call from one of my chorus friends Thursday night - her mom passed away suddenly that morning! So, I've been the go-between to get the word out to the rest of the chorus, as well as her address and any additional information I get. This is going to be a rough time for her, that's for sure! Her name is Merritt, and I know she would appreciate your thoughts and prayers for her and her family.

Bev, I was so sorry to hear about Phoebe's eggs!!! Surely the crows have a better food source! Wonder why they are so relentless about attacking her nests? Did you and Kay enjoy your visit? Hope you will post a picture or two for us!

Levi is supposed to come home tonight in time to have dinner with me, then will spend the night and go to church with me tomorrow. After lunch, we have some stuff to do here, like washing cars! Hope it's not too hot!

Good Morning

Yesterday was a long day. Steve came over to shampoo my rugs and I was with the kids almost 9 hours. The rugs look great and I slept in late this morning. NOw I have many errands to run this morning after catching up on various nests.

Kay and I had wonderful visit yesterday... just like we knew one another all our lives... it was so nice.. enjoyed lots of laughs and chatted a lot.... hope the next time we will have more time ... i was back at the house in time to see her cruise ship leaving... took this from Agnes living room window
