friends!
I sure have missed y'all! Thanks to those who have checked up on me and been thinking about me! It's been a busy couple of weeks.
I spent last week working outside and cleaning inside the house. I even shampooed carpets and mopped floors! Right in the middle of all that, my AC stopped working. I called the last repairman we used - I trust him to find the problem and fix it without charging us for anything extra or unnecessary, but couldn't reach him. After 2 days, I finally had to give in and call one of the companies. Of course, they charged me a service fee just for showing up! Then they charged me a hunk of money to fill up the system with coolant and recharge it - about $350! Well, it worked fine for a few hours, but by bedtime that same day, it wasn't working again! Luckily, the original repairman called me and left a message, so I called him back the next morning. He came and checked out the whole system outside, the braker box, the return unit in the attic, etc. and found that the compressor was bad. We have a 16-20 year old system that uses the old coolant, so any major repair wouldn't be worth it. Might as well just put in a whole new system. So, he left to make phone calls to get estimates on repairs and new systems and said he would call me the next day. That evening, it suddenly dawned on me that he hadn't charged me a single penny for the service call!!!! Bless his heart!
He called me back the next day, Mike & I decided to go ahead with the all new system, and the guy ordered it. So, now I'm waiting for the new equipment to come in so I can pay $6,100 for it!!! At least we won't have to worry about finding the leak in the existing equipment or have to pay extra for the old coolant anymore.
Later that same day . . . my company arrived! Mike's aunt (that he stays with in Huntsville), her daughter and granddaughter are staying with me for Spring Break and we are "doing Savannah"! Well, we sure have been blessed with cool weather since they got here. All the windows are open and the fans are on high, and we usually wake up cold! We have spent the last 3 days at the beach, on a movie tour, trolley tour, having tea at the Gryphon Tea Room, even ate at the Pirates House one night, Jean! After the tea, I let them run around on their own for the afternoon seeing things they wanted to go back to or missed. So, I finally have some time to get on the computer. Aunt Pat is staying in the computer room too, so I haven't been able to get to the computer until today. They will be heading home tomorrow and hopefully, I will then hear from the AC man!
Two other things have happened this week, so I hope I'm done with catastrophies for a while! When I was cleaning the ceiling fan blades in the guest room, one of the blades broke off in my hand! The metal piece that connects the blade to the fan broke inf half. I have a few smaller ceiling fans in the attic that we have used in our bedrooms in other houses, so I found a blade and took the piece off of it. It is smaller than the piece that broke and all the holes don't line up with the screws, so I had to make it fit! Later, I found some online at Home Depot, so I picked up a pack of them Sunday after church and will switch it out as soon as I can get to that fan again.
Also, during our day of touring Monday, I realized that my almost new cell phone had gotten smashed. I really think that the granddaughter stepped on it. T-Mobile wants $600 for a new one!!! Don't know yet what I'm gonna do about that, but they gave me a cheap loaner in the meantime. I told Mike I don't think I can take one more thing right now! So, I hope my streak is over with for now.
Well, that pretty much catches y'all up with me. After my company leaves, hopefully I can look back and catch up a little bit with y'all too. Hope everyone is well and are enjoying nice weather as we are. At least I have been blessed in that!

Bev - guess we almost collided. Wow, what a scarey childhood experience - for your parents too. Your dad certainly was hero getting all of you out. Fortunately, it had a happy ending - you all had your lives. I never have liked fireworks.

Good Night.....
Cute pictures of Faith, Cherie. Sounds like she is aware of the good things in life, like sleeping upside down.
Bleu likes that too.
Bev, those sorts of memories are very strong. i bet you were mighty frightened but your dad was a hero.
We had lightning strike our home in NJ when my daughter was barely almost 6 (the next day) and son 9 and it exploded part of the roof. Hubby put a hole in the wall getting me out of bed, then getting kids out of house as house was on fire. We were fortunate as they got it out and could be repaired.
I am glad you are having such fun with the boys. I hope everyone has sweet dreams.....

Good Morning Friends!
The next 3 days are free ones for me! I feel like I have been on a Merry-Go-Round that never stops! Today Don and I are heading over to Augusta to shop .... that is as soon as I get my act together and shower and dress! We need to stop at Costco and Sams Club, have our lunch/dinner date, and maybe hit a couple other stores! When we get back I need to catch up on housework, do some laundry and ironing, and do my nest reports.
The Dunedin Osprey nest had another hatch during the night. Now we have one more to go. I captured a couple videos this morning. One of Dad bringing in a snake, but when Mom ignored him, he flew off with it. I worry as I haven't seen any fish coming in since the first hatch. You do see them feeding, but what!??
Cherie that's two cute pictures of Faith. Osito is our pup that loves to lay on his back!
Barbara I forgot you were having company. I'm sure they had a great time with you. Savannah is a beautiful town! Don and I love going there. The shops at the waterfront and the squares filled with people are unique!
Bev, congratulations on Phoebe's hatch! I saw that when I posted the announcement of the new Dunedin chick. Wish I had time to watch her like I did the past couple of years, but just don't have the time. And didn't I say I was going to slow down this year with all my social events?? Seems like I am busier than before!
Donna is the situation getting any better at Richmond?? Are you getting the smoke from the fires as far as your place. That sure is a sad situation with all the homes and lives lost!
Sara how is your bowling team doing?? Have you taken first place back??
Guess I better head up to shower and dress now. Don wanted to get an early start, but I don't think that is going to happen!
Hi to those I didn't have time to mention. I just might have more time this weekend to post!
Have a great day All!
