Hello Friends,
Taking a break this morning from the falcons nest, the grass is calling me instead. We finally got rain and that is all it took for everything to start growing again.
It was great fun at the Falcon nest site and area yesterday. The young falcons flying from one area to another chasing bugs and their parents for food. I watched the female parent bring in a pigeon and remove its feathers as two of the youngsters flew in to beg for the bird. The parent tried to get them to fly after her and take the bird in the air, but they did not follow and she returned with the bird and fed it to them instead. Mean while the male parent flies by and the third youngster quickly took to flight and took the bird from the parent in mid air. GREAT STUFF!!!!!!
Naoma, Wonderful photos of the mother donkey and her new born youngster.
Doreen, Thanks for the link to the wildlife center. Very interesting about the very small one. I would think it would be very frustrating for the parents to mate ,lay eggs, incubate, hatch eggs, brood them, and then have them taken.
Scott, Thanks for the link to our bears. Adorable photo of Fern and Herbie, they look a little thin.
Elle, I hope all goes well with your root canal. Halcion is a drug that we used for a sleep aide at the hospital, but yes now it is being used as a relaxer for dental procedures. I'm sure Ian will be taking you and bring you home, the sedative effects can last for a while.
Here are a few photos from yesterday.
