Here's a youtube 4 & 1/2 min. vid i found from IWF. It's from back in '08 when Shadow, Malik & Grizzer.... Maya & Lakota ( who have now crossed over), were the Exhibit Pack. They are now the retired wolves we see in current vid updates. In this vid they were introducing Denali & Aidan, as pups, to the pack.

Lori Please research the concepts of Public Domain and the principle of Fair Use while you're at it...
Here is what I read on many sites: "Images can be reproduced without regard to copyright under the principal of Fair Use if it is done so solely for educational purposes and with no intention to realize profit."

I think the rub here at EA, with all our precautions, is that there has been no intent to realize a profit in our posting of images! If Person A uses person B's created image on Person A's website to sell something or promote their business, that's one thing - and wrong.

But hey -- are we to think we cannot even post a pic of, say, Betty White or of an old 1920 postcard (just random examples) if it pertained to the topic being discussed? What about images from GoogleEarth? Screen captures of things being sold on ebay? Surely ebay sellers don't copyright every pic of every object they are selling!

Also, a person has to take an action to copyright something - you can't just say it's copyrighted!

A lot more has to be clarified for us. And in terms we all can clearly understand.


Decorah's this morning had a large prey, bunny or squirrel, on a distant branch. Fur or feathers being flung far and wide. Then a hunk brought to nest by Dad, where he had his fill, then departed leaving the rest for Mom. They were at the nest for hours, with cameraguy panning and zooming most of the time - it was great!!! I got nothing done

thanks, hon, but could you toss it back on the grill for a sec....

Then Dad imprinted a nice depression in the new nesting material


Rose -- I think it's a squirrel nest - have 3 in my yard now Just loved all your eagle pix from the festival and esp. of Rachel (her snowman was great!) but most of all I CRACKED UP OVER THE PIC OF HER IN FRONT OF ALL THOSE SHOES!

Sue, The moon pics are exquisite - quite eerie and wonderful.

Anna, I think your photos of the snowy landscapes are breathtaking! Well done....

My brain is on copyright overload. I'm going through the EWF thread and fortunately there's not quite a hundred pages but it is time consuming. Therefore, I probably won't get to the red tonight. There's that and all the other things that occupy my time.
