8:56 to 9:05 Mom is awake and rocking a bit. She is up and checks on the egg. It was visible briefly. She settled and began to preen. Up she is again and she digs and rolls the egg. She then settles again.

There was an owl in the nest the night before. Maybe it came around again, but knew better than to come with eagles in the nest.

Mom has been incubating the egg most of the morning. She did get a break for breakfast.

11:38 She is up and the egg is in a spot of sunshine.


11:39 Mom is stretching and preening.

11:47 Dad arrives at 2. I could see him coming in under the nest. He sits on the fence for a bit and then mom leaves at 11:48.

12 to 1:45 The eagles have been alert to an intruder. Dad was up and after it after watching for a while. The egg has been out in the open for most of this time. It is in the sunshine.

The afternoon was interesting. The eagles were concerned about an intruder and left the egg for a few minutes.

12:39 There is trilling away from the nest. Dad remains watchful on the nest.

12:44 He is up in a hurry with wings outspread and stops at 4. He is watchful and then he is off the nest.

12:45 to 12:49 Dad stands at the fence at 9. He is alert and calls out several times.

1:09 Mom comes to the nest and stands at 12.

1:15 Mom moves into the nest and rolls the egg. She digs a bit and is watchful.

1:18 Mom settles to incubate.

1:37 Mom is up checking the egg and settles again. She rocks a bit and pulls up hay/grass.
