Thought I would give us an idea of the weather over the next few days. The cam is operating again. Hatch watch continues.
Dad is on the nest. He is fiddling with the stick as he incubates the eggs.

Good morning Judy H and all who watch this nest. Thanks for the news that the cam was down.

Other parent is now in the nest.
An exchange is taking place... and we get a good look at the two intact eggs.

while following the chat today obxbarb was sharing that she was talking to the student who is doing intrusion research for 12 nests along the James River. She had seen 65 intrusions. When she reviews the tapes there may be more. I have to say I was surprised and thought that was a lot. I am not disagreeing with her at all only surprised. Barb did not know how intrusions were defined.
I am glad to hear that the listening has begun here. I had not noticed it at all before this. So hoping that the hatch is soon. Eager to see a little one at this nest. Since this is the first year the nest is viewed on cam there will be many things to see and learn about this pair.
Judy and Bev and I am off for a bit now.
