Dad Steals R1's meal...

Just tuned in to find Dad on a branch to the right of the nest.



One of the juvies is in the nest eating.
There must have been a food drop. I wonder where the other juvie is?
Obxbarb from Chat thinks this is R1...

Dad flies back onto the nest.
OMgoodness... Now that is one intense look that Dad gives his daughter.
I wonder what R1 is thinking right now? LOL

and steals the food.
I just love this scene and how intense Dad looks as he is coming in for the steal.
I guess he know's when it is safe to do so with his giant female child... LOL

Dad appears to be eating

R1 opens her wings and gets closer to dad and he perks his head up and gives her this look ...
"Don't even think about it."


R1 cleans her beak on the thick branch while dad continues to eat.

Dad takes a second to look at us!




R1 remains perched on the thick branch to the left of the screen.
You can see her lovely yellow talons.
R1 does some more beak cleaning.
I have never had the privy to actually see a juvie, at this age, clean its beak.

Suddenly, R1 leaps and sort of crashes into dad...
Dad has the most animated expressions... He looks like this..

He leans back more.

This looks like a possible collision to me...

After the onslaught by R1, of course Dad is only thinking one thing...
FOOD.
He looks down because he was in the middle of looking for nest overs before she got in his way.


R1 is to the right of the nest and Dad continues to look for crumbs.
Dad hops up onto a nest branch and does a quick beak clean and then goes to the left out of view.

Pretty girl investigates the nest for morsels and takes a moment to look up.
I wonder what got her attention?

Just before taking off to the right.
I tried to get a scap of her take off, but all scaps were fuzzy...

But, here is a nice shot of her lovely fanned out tail.

Cam zooms out and we find R1 perched in the exact same location as dad was before he came to the nest to steal her food.
How cool is that? She wants to follow in her dad's talon steps... LOL

Dad is perched just to the left of the nest.
I have never seen him perch there before. It is like Daughter and Dad switched favorite hang outs. haha

A little later both R1 and Dad are perched on the left side.
R1 is on the branch above dad towards the left.
